Every Sacred Roots piece is carefully handmade and deserves a little extra care. Polymer clay is lightweight and durable, but delicate flowers, resin, pressed botanicals, beads, and metal findings can still be damaged by bending, moisture, heat, or harsh chemicals.

Keep it Dry
Take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Water and prolonged moisture may affect the finish, adhesive, pressed flowers, and metal components.

Avoid Chemicals
Apply perfume, hairspray, lotion, makeup, and other beauty products before putting on your jewelry. Allow products to dry completely first.

Handle gently
Avoid bending, twisting, pulling, or dropping your jewelry. Polymer clay has some flexibility, but sculpted flowers and other raised details are more delicate.

​Do not leave your jewelry in a hot vehicle, near a heater, or in prolonged direct sunlight. Excessive heat may affect the clay, resin, adhesive, or colour.

Mild Soap & Water
For plain polymer clay pieces, use a soft cloth with a small amount of mild soap and water when necessary. Avoid soaking the jewelry, and any harsh chemicals.

Clean Cloth
Use a clean, soft, slightly damp cloth with water to gently wipe away fingerprints, makeup, or surface dirt.Â
Resin, pressed-flower pieces, pearls, glued embellishments, and delicate sculpted details should only be wiped gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.

Storage
Store your treasures in a dedicated jewelry box or pouch to prevent scratching against other hard materials.
Natural Changes Over Time
Metal findings may gradually tarnish or change colour due to air, moisture, skin oils, and personal-care products. This is a natural process and is not considered a defect. Gently wiping the metal after wear and storing it in a dry, enclosed place can help slow this process.
